Day 1. Arrival / San Jose
Meet and greet at the airport by our representative who will be taking you to your hotel in San Jose . Overnight in Hotel Britannia.
Day 2 To Tortuguero (B, L, D)
Travel early today towards our Caribbean side. Passing the central highlands we will make a stop to enjoy breakfast. Then continue through banana plantations and then at the dock meet our boat. Now we are immersed in this amazonic environment of Tortuguero. The waterways bring us to exuberant forest on both sides of the boat and you wonder how the boatman doesn't get lost in this labyrinth of canals. We will arrive in Tortuguero for a late lunch. Your guide will take any opportunity offered by nature to see wildlife so, have your binoculars and camera handy. This afternoon explore the area and the town of Tortuguero . Spend these two nights in Pachira Lodge .
Day 3. In Tortuguero (B, L, D)
Full day exploring Tortuguero, in the morning go for a guided boat ride along the water canals. The boat goes slowly and your guide and boat man will allow you to see the most amazing creatures in this region: lizards, iguanas, bats, sloths, howler monkeys, kingfishers, anhingas, great egrets and many more. Also go for a guided hike in the trails of the park.
Day 4. to Osa Peninsula in the southern Pacific (B, L, D)
This early morning a short boat ride will bring you to the local airstrip of Tortuguero for an early flight to San Jose and then to the southern Pacific to Osa Peninsula . After arriving in Osa Peninsula you will be greeted and taken through the Sierpe River until the lodge. Enjoy this afternoon at the beach on this beautiful area. Overnight Aguila de Osa.
Day 5. to Corcovado National park (B, PL, D)
A fourth of Costa Rica´s tree species, is found on the Osa Peninsula . This lowland rainforest is made up of 700 tree species¡ªthe greatest tree species diversity in all of Central America . Get ready today to be immersed in Corcovado , unique home of many vascular plant species. A boat will take you to the northern station of San Pedrillo within the park. Truly worth a nice walk in the trails of this amazingly rich tropical forest. After a hearty pic nic lunch, this afternoon do some more walk or just enjoy the beach. Overnight Aguila de Osa.
Day 6. to Caño Island /snorkeling (B, PL, D)
Found 12 miles off the Osa Peninsula´s western coast, Caño Island is a treat to visit. The boat will bring you near the island first to try some snorkeling (water conditions permitting). Otherwise you will arrive in the island and go snorkeling later. The island itself is a rich archaeological site. Enjoy your day in Caño Island , snorkeling, hiking, and relaxing at the beach. Pic-nic lunch at Caño Island . Back to the hotel in the afternoon. Overnight Aguila de Osa. .
Day 7. fly to San Jose (B)
A boat ride crossing the Sierpe River will bring you to the airstrip for your local flight back to San Jose . This afternoon enjoy San Jose leisurely on your own. Overnight in Hotel Britannia.
Day 8. Departure
Transfer to international airport for flight back home, OR extend your stay.
