Family Pacific Beaches ExpeditionDay 1. San Jose  arrival.

We will be picking you up at the airport to take you to your hotel in San Jose .  Here will be forwarded to you a packet with all the necessary information for your trip. Overnight in Hotel Brittania.

Day 2. San Jose / white water rafting in Sarapiqui / Arenal Volcano (B, L).

Leave after breakfast over the Central Volcanic highlands to arrive on our Caribbean slope for a white water rafting trip in the Sarapiqui River . Enjoy the beautiful scenery on the way, learn about: coffee, the altitudinal changes in the country, and experience the change in temperature from one place to the next.  After a nice and active white water rafting, Class II-III enjoy local food for lunch.  Continue this afternoon to the area of Arenal. Arenal Volcano is the most active volcano we have and it is impressive when red-glowed material flows down from the volcano's slope at night. Overnight in Arenal Springs Hotel.

Day 3. horse back riding in Arenal / volcano hike & hot springs (B, D)

This morning after breakfast get on long pants and bring your cap too, for you will be going on a nice horse back riding trip. You will go through trails in secondary forest and pasture land. Back at your hotel by noon. At mid afternoon you will be picked up to go for a guided walk in Arenal Volcano National Park , followed by a nice evening at the hot springs . Enjoy a hearty dinner at the hot springs .

Day 4. Lake Arenal crossing / Monteverde (B)

Continue this day to Monteverde crossing Lake Arenal . Your transport by land, by boat and then by land passes beautiful landscapes as you continue to the Green Mountain of Monteverde.  Time in the afternoon for a leisure walk in the town of Santa Elena , explore the main attractions of Monteverde on your own. Overnight at Trapp Family Lodge.

Day 5. Cloud forest in Monteverde (B)

This morning go for a guided walk in the Monteverde cloud forest treetop walkways: simply the best way to observe the cloud forest canopy with the advantage of being able to take your time to observe each of the forest levels. The total length of the walk is for almost 3Km, in which you will go across eight bridges of lengths ranging from 50m to 170m at altitudes from 12m to 60m. It will take you between 1.5 – 2 hours of amusing walking. At your leisure the remaining part of the day, optional tours: canopy tour, guided night tour, a spa treatment at your hotel, etc.

Day 6. Jungle crocodile safari at Tarcoles River / to the beach (B)

After breakfast continue to the beach.  After the days of exploring the lush forest of Sarapiqui , Arenal and Monteverde it is time to go to the beach. So depart Monteverde down the slope and on to the Central Pacific beaches. On the way enjoy a nice guided boat ride for the jungle crocodile safari tour. Amazing crocodiles and abundant birdlife along the Tarcoles River and mangroves, lunch here. Plenty time this afternoon to enjoy the blue waters of the Pacific as they receive the sunset.

Day 7. at the beach (B)

Full day at your leisure, at Punta Leona nature beach resort.  Here, plenty of opportunities to go boogie boarding and building sand castles. And how about kayaking. Imagine cruising silently past spectacular cliffs full of pelicans and frigate birds in a craft pioneered by the Polynesians and perfected for tourism here in Costa Rica . Several choices of other tours or just relax.
