Marenco Lodge Drake Bay
Marenco Beach Lodge has all this and much more!! Travel to rain forest Costa Rica must include a visit to the remote Osa Peninsula, South Pacific , home to Corcovado National Park and the Marenco Biological Reserve . Additionally, there is a high potential in the rural tourism development, in country settlements distributed along the region. Two important protected areas are located in this zone, one is the Corcovado National Park, which National Geographic Magazine defines as “the planet's biologically richest place” and the Humanity Biosphere Preserve, declared as Humanity's Patrimony and part of the Amistad International Park . Fodor's Review:
This rustic lodge has the best location on the Pacific side of the Osa, with cabins and tents on a ridge overlooking the sea. Private porches are perfect for siestas, sunsets, and stargazing. Toucans and scarlet macaws visit every morning. Paths lead to the coastal trail and deep into the Río Claro National Wildlife Refuge, and a resident guide is on hand. Oceangoing tours include diving and dolphin-watching excursions. The rancho restaurant has a family feel, with communal tables and typical Tico food. There is electricity for only a few hours in the evening and no hot water. Insects frequent the thatched roofs, but so do tiny lizards that eat them up.
