DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Day 2. Irazu Volcano / Guapiles
A brief overlook of San Jose as your guide leads you east towards the former capital of Cartago. Continue the ascent to Irazu Volcano 3420masl, our highest peak in Central Valley. This route is filled with beautiful landscapes of agriculture and mountains combined with the cloud forest. At the national park your guide will bring you to hike in an old crater and along the lookout points you will see the other craters of beautiful turquoise water. Also, hike to the highest part and enjoy the impressive panorama above the clouds, on one side the Caribbean slopes and on the other Central Valley. After a pic-nic lunch descend and continue towards Guapiles passing through the Braulio Carrillo. Along the way practice how to purchase for fruits in Spanish with your guide for shopping at a fruit stand is in the agenda today. At the farm, experience harvesting vegetables and help in the cooking your first Costa Rica dinner. Home hosted overnight at Villa Florita in Guapiles.

After a nice breakfast today, get to know the local culture. Visit the local school, today you will learn more Spanish as you mix with the local kids with planned activities from our staff. Also, visit a banana plantation where you will learn the hard work involved in this crop. Remaining of the day at your home hosted Villa Florita with free time to enjoy the pool. Guapiles

An early breakfast today to continue east and visit Veragua Biological research station. This lowland rainforest station comprises many of the amazing jewels in the tropics. Biodiversity assessment lead by your guide and the local staff at research station. Included for you here: the aerial tram ride, a frog exhibit, hummingbird garden, butterfly exhibit and garden, insect hall and a guided hike through the trail of the giants. Canopy or zip-lines tour available at additional cost. Keep going to the south Caribbean beach of Puerto Viejo. Overnight at Villas del Caribe.
Day 5. at the beach
A well deserved time at the beach. Enjoy a full day at the beach with games and drills provided by your trip leader.
Day 6. Back to San Jose.
Still time to enjoy the beach because we start going back to San Jose in the late morning. Lunch is enroute and a nice re-cap of the trip. Farewell dinner tonight in San Jose.

Day 7. Departure day.
Airport shuttle service for your flight back home.
